In December 2014, we opened for business on Weserstraße, Neukölln’s beloved nightlife strip. The two spyholes in the door are a reminder of the bar’s questionable history – but don’t worry, nobody has to ring any doorbells for access these days!

The bar’s name pays tribute to the owner’s favourite jazz icon, rather than being indicative of our playlists. Instead, our music is always carefully curated to perfectly align with the vibes of the night and our guests. We've consciously created a warm and uncluttered aesthetic that’ll allow you to focus on what really matters.

Grab a comfy seat at or around the almost ten-meter-long bar where you’ll not only find room for inspiring conversation, but also friendly advice from expert bar staff who can help you choose the exact highball that tickles your fancy. Owner and barkeeper, Laura Maria Marsueschke, has perfected the art of mixing, creates exquisitely honest drinks – and has the awards to prove it.

Thelonious is a queer safe space that provides you with harmonious surroundings to kick back and enjoy classic cocktails in an intimate setting. So, if you’re looking for a cozy spot to take your date to, if you’ve had a rough day, or if there’s any reason at all to celebrate, we’ll offer you a drink that’s perfectly suited to the occasion.
